NEW PLAYability

Program

Introducing GymZone’s *New PLAYability Program! We've developed this program to offer an inclusive recreational outlet that caters to neuro-diverse children with unique developmental & intellectual exceptionalities. Our program welcomes children of all abilities to participate in the sensory sport of gymnastics. Based on our assessment criteria, instruction will be offered in an individual or a small group setting based on your child's individuals needs and goals.

Our PLAYability program uses a circuit-style approach and focuses on the development of fundamental gross/fine motor skills, strength/flexibility, balance/coordination as well as proper gym safety in a supportive and empowering environment. Each class is lead by a certified coach and if needed, a certified community support can be accommodated.

Before starting in any of the following streams, a 1 on 1 assessment class with a certified coach will be required in order to gain a full understanding of your child's needs, how best to work with them as well as how they interact in our unique gym setting. *This will help determine if lessons will require lower-stimulation, off-peak hours, extra support and how their coach can make the most out of their time together. etc.  *Please note: If your child has a history or shows any sign of aggressive behaviour towards the coach or themselves, 1 on 1's are will be the only class option permitted and parents must remain present for the entirety of the less

1-ON-1

This is a highly-individualized one on one lesson with the child.

The focus of these classes are geared towards the development of your child's specific goals as determined by both parents/guardians and coach while accommodating their specific needs.

Depending on the specific needs of your child, these lessons may need to be scheduled during off-peak hours to include a lower-stim environment (quieter, less traffic, lower lighting, etc.)

Building Friendships

This is the next step of our program. Building Friendships is a structured lesson in a small group setting where needs and goals are similar and both children learn to work together on developing more advanced social skills like patience, taking turns, sharing - all while having fun!

The overall goal of this class is to become comfortable learning with others with the goal of moving to a Blended Learning class!

Blended Learning

A Blended Learning class offers your child the opportunity to a join in a typical larger group class with direct 1 on 1 support from their coach.

This class may start out as 20% private lesson, with 80% integration with the goal of balancing out the percentages.

Children are empowered to listen to coach instructions and rotate along with the group with the full support of their own coach.

Your child’s coach will assist your child 100% of the time, modify stations/exercises and provide breaks as needed.
